For someone who suffers from trauma, everyday is a new obstacle that we need to overcome, or a new hurdle that we need to jump over. A song that comes on while you are at the grocery store, the smell of someone’s perfume or cologne as they walk by you, the color of someone’s shoes, seemingly random, yet, these obstacles try to convince our brain and body that we are in danger.
I am committed to providing you with a safe space that promotes healing, perspective, and unconditional positive regard. I can assist you with developing adaptive coping skills that can help you when navigating through the experience of uncertainty. I am committed to providing you with a space where you can process uncomfortable feelings, a place where you can process the unexpected obstacles life throws your way, and a space that highlights your strengths and your capabilities.
ABOUT ME.
Professionally empathetic yet direct. Zest and passion yet grounded and results. Driven, motivating and thrives off of human connectedness.
When reflecting on life and those whose paths have crossed mine, it always seems as though wherever I go people have been comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings with me. Whether it’s at the grocery store in the check out line or at the dog park with my puppy Max.
Through the brief interactions, people always seem to share little snippets of a struggle they are facing or something upsetting that happened to them that day or even that week. What a humbling experience it is to be able to be that person for someone, to be able to be present for them in that moment when they just need someone to listen to them. I’ve learned that oftentimes people just walk to talk, they just want to be heard and know that their thoughts and feelings do matter.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to help others and leave my mark on this world. Being a therapist and having the opportunity to work in the mental health field has allowed me to grow, reflect, and shape me into the person I have always wanted to be. My priority is to assist you with working through the stuff that life throws your way. I am committed to helping you develop and strengthen the tools that can help you cope with and overcome obstacles. You are the expert on your life and I am committed to assisting you with navigating your journey of self growth and self reflection.
