Sports enthusiast, avid fan of superhero movies, always looking for warmer weather!
I’ve always had an affinity for story-listening – to be on the receiving end of the wisdom, knowledge and experiences of others. My genuine curiosity to learn about other people has been a guiding compass for me throughout my life and was a major reason why I chose to become a social worker.
The stories I’ve heard over the years are a reflection of where I’ve been. I have had the privilege of traveling to, and living in, many cities around the world. Originally from Central Florida, I have bounced around to cities such as New York, Cape Town, Los Angeles, and currently, Washington D.C. I am consistently awed and humbled by the vibrant cultures and communities around the world and maintain a deep respect for the unique intersectional perspectives that individuals bring to their everyday lives. Along with my travels and the people I’ve met along the way, my life has also been shaped by those closest to me.
There is not a single individual in this world who has not been impacted, either directly or indirectly, by issues of mental and physical health, interpersonal relationships, or general life difficulties. My own life struggles, and those of my family members and friends, are important reminders that life is intricately tied with obstacles and that our steps forward in life are not without some steps backward scattered in-between. But I have seen the power that lies within all people to continue to put one foot in front of the other, to persevere endlessly towards wellness and happiness.
Every time I reach out a hand of support to someone, I do so with the strength of everyone who has shared with me their own pathways forward.
I spend most of my down-time playing soccer, avidly watching and re-watching Marvel superhero movies, and relaxing with my partner.
